TAP, the Thinkun Agent Platform, is software for creating agents that do a defined job inside a business. Each agent is assembled from reusable parts, connected to your people and systems, and given only the permissions you grant. You get the benefit of agents and keep control of what they do, what they cost and which models they run on.

TAP was built by Thinkun, a quarter century into building digital products, web communications and business operations for clients. Agents are immediately useful and, unbounded, risky. So TAP is designed to guarantee five things.
Human authority
Permissions are granted by people and checked outside the agent's conversation. It cannot widen them.
Audit trail
Every action is recorded: what was done, on which system, under whose authority.
Any lab, any model
Providers are bound per deployment. No single lab, model or account is required; the agent's rules do not change when the model does.
Cost control
Usage limits sit on each deployment. At the limit the agent says so; it does not find another way to spend.
An agent that cannot widen its own permissions is an agent you can put to work.
How TAP puts an agent together
Define what is different; compose what already works. New code is written only when a building block does not exist yet, and then it becomes reusable.
- Agent Product
a reusable declaration of a kind of agent: its job, identity, operating instructions and the work it offers. TOM and TWA are Agent Products.
- Facilities
reviewed building blocks for technical work: web authoring, source control, delivery, connections to business systems.
- Deployment
binds the product to one business: its people, systems, model providers, limits and credentials.
- Authority
explicit grants say who may take which action on which system. Composing an ability never grants permission to use it.
- The running agent
TAP checks the composition, refuses anything missing or mismatched, runs the agent and records what it does.
